Attachment

Compact file previews for uploads, processing states, and completed documents.

Use Attachment for files attached to a message, inspection report, or other product workflow. Keep the state visible in the description and use AttachmentAction for actions that belong to the file.

Composition

Combine AttachmentMedia, AttachmentContent, AttachmentTitle, AttachmentDescription, and AttachmentActions. Use AttachmentGroup when several files need horizontal scrolling.

Accessibility

Name every icon action by its outcome and filename. Keep upload progress or failure in visible text, and announce asynchronous state changes when the surrounding workflow does not already do so.

Best practices

  • Use state for the real file lifecycle instead of inventing colour treatments.
  • Keep filenames and file sizes concise; the component truncates long values safely.
  • Use the vertical orientation for media grids and horizontal attachments in messages or forms.
