Dialogs
Focused decisions and short tasks that preserve context.
Use a dialog for a short task or decision that must be completed before returning to the current context. Use a page for long, reference-heavy, or deeply nested work.
Every dialog needs a specific title and useful description. Keep content bounded and scrollable, place the primary action last in the footer, and use an explicit destructive label when the outcome cannot be reversed.
The primitive contains focus, closes with Escape, and restores focus to the opener. Keep a dialog open when an API refusal needs the person’s attention. Do not open a second dialog from inside the first.
